Don Kraig loses battle with pancreatic cancer

The author of what for some is one of the most pivotal occult manuals of the 20th century Don Kraig lost his battle with pancreatic cancer.

Kraig (March 28, 1951 – March 17, 2014) wrote Modern Magic which has been in every occult bookshop and most occultist's bookshelves for more than 20 years.  He wrote many other books for Llewellyn and was also editor for Fate magazine.

He was initiated into Aridian Witchcraft by author Raven Grimassi, and into American Traditionalist Witchcraft by Scott Cunningham.  He was involved with both OTO and the Golden Dawn.

He received training and certification as a clinical hypnotherapist by the American Board of Hypnotherapy (ABH), the National Guild of Hypnotists (NGH), and the Association for Integrative Psychology (AIP). He was also certified as a hypnosis instructor by the ABH and as a master practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) by the AIP.

His wife Holly Allender Kraig said: "The type of cancer he had was just too aggressive for us to do any more treatments and his body finally gave way. He did not suffer. He simply slipped away in his sleep."

Living God has internet meltdown

A video of unemployed carpet cleaner E A [Living God] Koetting is circulating on the worldwide wibble in which he seems rather “tired and emotional.”  The video, which has found its way into the paws of Watcher of the Dawn, appears to have been released after some of his minions dared to question his divinity. Koetting is shutting down an online group to stop them from debating if he was the Living God he claimed.  As can be seen, he releases a stream of invective, claiming that he was the all-powerful one, but mere mortals were ruining his Divine Plan.  He demanded his followers should “bow down before me" or they “simply will not exist.” Koetting said: “There is only one mother fucker alive who can do what I can do, and you refuse to recognise that because you have got this ego.” He denies that he is speaking out of ego but because “he is cursed”. He is the only “motherfucker” who can see past the pettiness and hurt because people are not getting his ideas.  Koetti...

Who are the Watchers of the Dawn?

We keep getting requests asking who we are and what our intentions are. This blog started after a “tired and emotional” conversation after a particularly successful party in Oxford. Some of us had been on the British Occult scene for the last three decades and knew lots of stories about people getting shafted by their occult leaders. Part of the reason they have been able to get away with it is that there is a conspiracy of silence which exists between some of these leaders and their victims. It is not considered “done” for such antics to be made public, but there was no good watchdog for the occult scene.   Politicians are forced by the press to keep their noses more or less clean, but there is no press for the magical setting. If you look at online magazines, they all report teaching or advertising a group leader’s meetings or books. There is extraordinarily little wider questioning of their dodgier moves. As a result, they keep repeating the same actions and damaging the sa...

Jean-Pascal Ruggiu quits the Golden Dawn because of the Jews

Once a key player in the Golden Dawn wars, Jean Pascal Ruggiu has announced that he finds Golden Dawn syncretism dodgy and particularly does not like the Jewish approach. The former National Front political candidate was once the "Imperator" of the Ahathoor Temple of the Golden Dawn in Paris. Closely aligned to David Griffin, examples of Ahathoor rituals can be found on YouTube . When it had been known that Ruggiu had quit Griffin’s order, there were rumours put about by a Griffin supporter, Robert Word, that Pascal was dead, Ruggiu appeared back on Facebook as chatty as ever.  Last week, he said that he wanted to tell Facebook that while he had been known as Ahathoor ex-Imperator for a while, he no longer followed the GD tradition. “I consider this syncretism between Judeo-Christian traditions and Egyptian neo-paganism is totally incompatible. Syncretism can only bring about conflicts in terms of egregors between two religions which were staunch enemies,” Ruggiu said. He bel...
