Witch Queen backs “Abusive Priest” as fury erupts in Wiccan circles

Co-founder of Alexandrian Witchcraft and Witch Queen Maxine Sanders has thrown petrol on an already blazing row in the occult world after publicly defending Christian Day, a notorious witch with a rap sheet of scandals longer than most people’s Book of Shadows.

Day, who runs the online Spectral Evidence shin-dig, has already hit headlines for all the wrong reasons. Most recently, he suggested Palestinians should be “eating their children” and has been dragged through court accused of elder abuse; he has also been slammed for stalking, racism and general nastiness.

Yet instead of keeping her distance, Sanders shocked many by leaping to his defence in a Facebook post, even mocking one of his accusers and brushing the whole saga off as little more than community drama.

She wrote a lengthy post calling the criticism “spectacle dressed up as accountability.” She singled out one of Day’s alleged victims, using the mocking nickname “Spikey,” and accused him of hypocrisy and attention-seeking.

“Spikey’s crusade wasn’t a genuine critique. It was spectacle dressed up as accountability, fuelled by half-truths and collective contempt. It wasn’t wisdom; it was a performance,” she declared.

Sanders then claimed Day suffers from “intermittent explosive disorder,” a recognised psychiatric condition, and argued his infamous outbursts were misunderstood. According to her, real witchcraft isn’t about “keyboard crusades” but compassion, silence, and self-awareness.

“There is profound strength in silence... Such silence can be deeply kind, allowing the heat of discord to cool and wisdom and clarity to resurface,” she urged, calling for kindness in the face of conflict.

Sanders got sycophantic applause from her local followers, but must have been surprised by the response from those over the pond who had actual dealings with Day.

Peni Delina Perreault, one of many accusing Day of long-term abuse, hit back with a blistering comment: “This isn't the result of one small disagreement. This is 20 years of repeated abuse, threats and nefarious deeds. We will not go away as we feel it is important to warn others what they may face.”

Perreault slammed Sanders for enabling an abuser and for echoing Day’s own mockery by calling a victim “Spiky.” “Calling another witch 'Spiky' as his abuser lowers you in my respect,” she wrote, also blasting Alexandrian leadership in New Orleans for tolerating abuse while ignoring their own standards.

One poster branded the defence of Day “obvious and disgusting,” insisting they personally knew multiple victims and believed many more were too scared to speak.

Sanders has been known to expel people from her coven for far less serious offences. That left many baffled as to why she was bending over backwards for Day.

Some in the community think the answer is simple loyalty. Day was initiated by Sharon Day, Sanders'  right-hand woman and social media manager, and that tie might explain the public support.

Others were more brutal, mocking Sanders’ post as if it had been “written by artificial intelligence trying to impersonate a wise elder without the wisdom or political nous.”

Sanders’ attempt to dress up Day’s behaviour as misunderstood and call for them to embrace his antics as part of some spiritual thing witches should do has gone down badly.

One of our sources said: “It is exactly the sort of bollocks that the Roman Catholic church does.”

Comment from Sharon Day:

"Given the importance of vouching and lineage in Wiccan circles, the first clarification pertains to a statement made in a recent blog post that I initiated Christian.

For the avoidance of doubt, I can confirm that neither Maxine nor I initiated him. That said, Christian is a vouched-for initiate.

As regards the statements and insinuations that I authored Maxine’s post ‘Grace under Fire’, these too are categorically false.

Maxine’s views and written expressions are wholly her own and always have been since we've known each other."

Spectral Evidence conference organiser tells Palestinians to eat each other

Wiccan warlock Christian Day [pictured] has caused disgust and outrage after telling starving Palestinians to turn cannibal.   The twisted occultist made the shocking comment on Facebook after someone posted: “Palestinian kids are out of food and the world is doing nothing.” Day sneered back: “They can always dine on one another. I’m surprised they haven’t eaten the hostages yet.”   Day is already notorious. He was shunned by a large number of covens who felt that the world needed to be protected from his antics. These range from trolling to nasty, abusive posts   Despite being cast out, Day continues to flog his Spectral Evidence convention, an online occult jamboree boasting 75 lectures.  Day is alleged to have doxed fellow pagans, handing their names and addresses to a far-right Christian church. Though he hurriedly deleted the details, the damage was done, and extremists were effectively given a hit list.  Critics say he is courting controversy...

Occult book boss nicked my sigils

NOTED Golden Dawn scholar Olen Rush has accused Kerubim Press chief Dean Wilson [AKA  Frater Yechidah] of stealing his research on tarot sigils and trying to pass it off as his own mystical revelation. Rush, author of A Short Treatise on the Sigils of the Scales , claims Wilson half inched his documented work on how Golden Dawn “King” and “Queen” court cards combine to form “Prince Sigils”. Rush insists the material, first published in 2010, was later dressed up by Wilson as if it had been spiritually revealed to him. Rush says the proof lies in old blog posts and emails from 2012 where Wilson not only praised his book but asked permission to link to it. He accuses Wilson of now denying ever having read the work while presenting its core ideas as his own. “He had the audacity to suggest we compare findings when he had already borrowed mine,” Rush said. The sigils are an obscure part of the Golden Dawn tradition, and Rush is the expert. Golden Dawn insiders note that Rush’s ...
